Having a daycare means I share many joys with the children. So yes, I have a lot of toys, books, manipulative, dress up clothes and more toys and books. I can’t resist a sale – be it a garage sale, toy store or resale shops. Does this mean I am a hoarder? No, I don’t know if my husband knows the meaning of the word hoarder! All it means is that I love to surround myself with the sound of laughter and simple joys that come from happy kids…I am just a woman that loves to love kids. The many moms and daycare providers out there shares my view – I hope.
Anyways seriously I did need to get rid of some …not all. Needless to say, I cleared house (I think) to make room for new. On June 30th we had a garage sale to sell off some things and hopefully get enough $$ to purchase other things (yes I am addicted to pleasing the children). Well, we needed a bench or chairs for teachers to sit, a big enough table to hold 2 computers (computers will come someday..who knows maybe someone will gift us ). Also, truth be told our space has gotten smaller because we moved the daycare to the lower level. I know I can’t believe we are going to live in a house and not a daycare.
Thanks to the many neighbors (really our neighbors are the best …they really supported the sale and my daughter’s lemonade stand). Shout out to the parents that never fail, I am blessed to have this community around me and the daycare. Our garage sale was a success and some things that were not sold were donated or still in the garage for sorting at another time. That other time will be a cooler day, I don’t feel like stepping in a sauna for half a day or a full day.
On a different note, my daughter had her first lemonade stand and realized the value of money. She loves the sierra turkey sandwich at Panera Bread and wants to hop over there every day to have lunch. I can’t believe mommy does not know how to make a turkey sandwich. It is really hard to figure out and until I get it right she insists on wanting Panera Bread. Can you believe putting turkey lunch meat between pieces of bread is that hard? Well because it is that hard she had to know how hard it is to earn the $15.10 she made from the stand. And she was only allowed to keep $5 and the rest went in her piggy bank that was safely guarded by her hands and blankets all night. She kept telling everyone she has $1 dollar million. Let’s see what will buy her…well that’s a different post
We have been having some very hot days this summer and even with a forecast of rain I went out in faith determined to have the garage sale…(it did not rain). Please do not agree with my husband when he says, ‘got junk?’
The new daycare does not have the space for highchairs instead, we will have the booster seats. The highchair is still available for $15 and the bookcase/ magazine rack for $25
Yes some things were for free ..toys, books, clothes etc.
We still have this computer table up for sale (anyone wants to purchase this it’s only $45)
Sorry everyone my little red head is not for sale! Adorable isn’t he?
Lemonade sign I made for my daughter …

Rapping up the day and just hanging out 🙂
She made a whopping $15.10 ( $5 went in her fannie pack and the rest her piggy bank)
Oh, it feels good having money. Let me guard this while I take a rest…it was a long and hard day hustling!
