Operating a mixed day family daycare has its many benefits to the children in care and the provider. I love cooking for these precious kids and my family. Well, some days I don’t feel like cooking, but then again I am always in the kitchen cooking up something whether I like it or not. Today, I decided to make some puree baby food for one of my picky eaters. You know those picky eaters that won’t open their mouth even when hungry. The kind that cries as they see food coming. I was hoping today would different and this child would welcome food. So I quickly had a thought to combine a smoothie I make for myself.Combine –
- pineapples
- red apple
- uncooked carrots
Still hanging onto good thoughts of this youngster eating. I quickly made this smoothie/puree it literally takes no time especially if you have the peeled pineapple. I am guessing you could use pineapples in the tin but, I had fresh peeled pineapple in the refrigerator…my household is big on fresh fruits – summer and all there are loads of sweet fruits around.Put all in the smoothie maker – don’t add water as the pineapple is enough liquid. You may have to do this on and off as not to burn out your motor. So turn on run a little shake then, put back on the base and crank up again…repeat until everything is all mixed in. Note I did not remove the skin of the apples. You can add as many fruits as you want, I just literally grabbed some and did the puree.
This puree is nice and rich…I love how it goes on the spoon…good stuff.
I hope your baby /infant/ toddler will love it as this youngster did. He ate it all and the next day I made another batch and he loved it. This is will now be the go to for this little one.
And I made another one for me. Yep, I love this smoothie..oops puree. Refreshly satisfying on a summer day.
