We’ve been making great artwork, painting with many natural elements. Here the children made patterns using the end of romaine lettuce, that area you would normally toss. We like to use unconventional tools for painting … another way to teach children to think out the box.Today we got some:
- Paper
- Acrylic paint
- Lettuce stub – I believe most of us have this in our Refridgerator.
- A brush or Q tip for applying the paint (you can choose to dip the lettuce in some paint).
Gather the children and let’s do this one at a time. I prefer to work with the little ones one by one, as this makes the process smoother with less anxiety on all. You can apply some paint on the lettuce or dip in one color. I applied the paint for the children then gave them the lettuce to paint.
This activity not only aids their creativity but, helps with their fine motor skills as well.
Given the lettuce, they were able to paint with imagination and purpose.
The repeated action of painting with this lettuce made a beautiful artwork.
The look of a child who is happy with his work.
Children should have the opportunity to make creative art, expand their imagination and think unconventionally. Hope your little ones will have fun painting with lettuce.. until it squashes away like these children did.
The life of my two love bugs. They have been attracted to mud and outdoor play for a very long time
