Kids Science Fair Project Mixing Milk with Vinegar and Lime

October 11, 2017 By Lil' Bebe Academy Leave a Comment

Children learn science from items that are already stocked in the house.  Finding simply items that will cause chemical reactions. What will happen if you mix vinegar in milk? How about adding lime or lemon in milk?

Their hypothesis of the experiment is that it would: –

  • Bubble
  • Erupt
  • Explode
  • Get slimy
  • Get very stinky
  • Have lines and their thoughts went on.

I gave the children milk had them add lemon, lime, and vinegar.  Here goes the experiment:-

Lemon

Lime

Three glasses showing chemical reaction of milk

They all watched the reaction and was able to tell their observation…. the milk curdled, began to separate,  got frothy, looked like puke and was yucky.

It did look a lot like Babies Puke…could make a good April fools joke.

This project got repeated a lot over the summer months, they all loved taking turns.

Heres hoping you will have vinegar or lime.  I usually have vinegar and lime because I wash my chicken with them before seasoning for cooking. Would love to hear what your children thought of the experiment.  Miss Sue
