I love adding natural elements inside our little daycare. This bean house fall decor was created in one afternoon. Made of lentils, red beans, garbanzo beans, and black beans this creates a beautiful non-traditional harvest art. First I drew the outline of the house. Then plastered mod podge over the house. I then applied the beans to the mod podge.
I kept adding more beans for coverage… I didn’t worry much about the oozing mod podge as …it dried clear. After I was satisfied with the coverage. I allowed drying for 48 hours which helped cement the beans. After it was all dried and I lifted the board a few beans fell off, but it wasn’t too much to affect the pattern or coverage of the board. The bean house board was added to our fall wall where it accompanied other nature made crafts.
This wall art did not break the bank. It was very easy to make and the bonus is it was made of natural elements. The beans I already had in my kitchen, the other elements came from my garden and the embroidery hoops were bought from my local goodwill. I have many of these hoops in various sizes 😉
Easy and simple craft that adds to any classroom wall.
