Have You Tried Kids Craft with Doilies? Doilies, are not just for a table setting? They can be used to compliment many things…especially kids art and craft. Here we used doilies on some old jeans. Yes, jeans like an old jeans pants cut up, and doilies glued to it. Come with me, let me show you how.
Step 1. Cut cardboard with a guillotine.
Step 2. Cut the jeans with clothes scissors, then glue to cardboard.
Step 3. The children used a selection of glue, school glue, mod podge and tacky glue. The mod podge and the school glue worked better than the tacky glue that was too heavy for the application of the doilies.
Step 4. After the jeans were dried on cardboard, children then applied the doilies.

Step 5. The children chose the doilies then with a little glue applied them to jeans. Their fingers will have some glue. For children that have sensory challenges, you may want to apply the glue for them. Some children do not like to feel icky things on their fingers.
The doilies can be glued directly to the jeans or as she did….she applied it on a paper then carefully transferred it to the fabric.
Continue the same process if applying more doilies on the craft.
Completed craft. The tacky glue was used for some of the jeans and cardboard application because some children chose that glue -it will not work great with the doilies.
A beautiful selection of craft that can also be made for mothers day and fathers day. Parents loved these. You also paint the doilies like these beauties.
