Tugboat Watercolor Kids Art

June 29, 2018 By Lil' Bebe Academy Leave a Comment

Tugboat small and mighty.

Tugboat sailing for many.

Tugboat here, there, and everywhere.

Tugboat sailing across many seas.

Tugboat you are the mighty..Suzette Salmon.

For this activity, I gave children a traced copy of a tugboat on watercolor paper,  watercolor paint, a paintbrush and small container with water for brush washing and dipping.

Here is a toddler making a go of the artwork.  When working with toddlers, I keep close to them, providing guidance with their brush dipping in the color technique.  They’ll blend all your colors if not supervised.  They have a way of moving the brush in all directions, colors, just about any wet spot is fitting for the brush.

Preschoolers are somewhat better at washing the brush after each application of color instead of moving from color block to color block.  I allow them to creatively make the artwork their own without telling them what to do.

One of the finished artwork.

A masterpiece by a toddler.

Tugboat large and small.  Tugboats carry them all.  Tugboats the mightly little vessel.  Tugboats you are the master.

Have fun tracing. painting and creating a masterpiece with your little ones – Miss Sue

Life with Senu and Heru

Senu and Heru have been fishing this summer.  We go to the Dupage Forest Preserves, purchase the baits and have fun fishing.  Our top spots to go fishing at the preserves are :  Herrick Lake, Blackwell and, Hidden Lakes.   These are excellent venues for outdoor play, family time, exploration and discovery.
