Sensory Ice Play with Nature and Animals

Is it freezing where you are? If so, then come on in and let’s play.
Oh, hold up if it’s not cold where you are, you can do this activity by adding the container to the freezer.

For this activity, you will need containers, dried flowers, and animals.

Place water and animals in a container, leave outdoors for a day or two and that’s it.

Here in Illinois we are experiencing winter and with our frigid temperature everything freezes. This winter activity is always on repeat – several containers with different materials is a sensory play tray children love.  

The children break the ice with stones, sticks or a drop on the concrete.  Yeah sensory, science fun outdoor activity for all ages.  If you operate a mixed age childcare this activity is definitely for your little ones. 

Other containers add whatever you can imagine (safe kids test). Take these indoors or leave outdoors for the children to play with.
