The Scissors I Love For The Toddlers In My Daycare

January 6, 2022 By Lil' Bebe Academy Leave a Comment

The toddlers in my daycare have been using these loop scissors to help their skills.  I purchased these from Amazon and Ebay made by Bierdorf.

What I love about these scissors?

  • It doesn’t matter the handedness of the child.  These are perfect for left or right hand – no need to buy specific scissors until they are ready.
  • These don’t pinch the little fingers and they are not sharp (safety first).
  • The fingers don’t easily slide off the scissors, my toddlers grip these very well

Children familiarize themself with the scissors as they make little snips and I am not nervous about them hurting themselves.

The more they use it, the more they learn the open close movement of scissors.

At this age the children are making snips until they are able to cut  to the other side of paper (or along a line).

If you operate a mixed age daycare as I do, I would encourage you to get this brand – I love it.

Happy cutting – xoxo Miss Sue
