Do you have game board letters that are just sitting on a shelf? Here is a fun way to reuse these. Give your children the opportunity to learn creatively with these – I RECYCLED them in a bottle. This letter / alphabet bottle can be used for sensory play, letter recognition, writing skills and …
I added this to our writing area. It pairs well with sand writing tray.
I LOVE Califia Farm products as a result I always have their bottles handy. Wash your bottles with warm soap and water (do not put in dish washer they will shrink). Dry upside down for a few days – it is good for the bottle to be completely dried. Have your hot glue, tacky glue or regular glue handy – This is to secure the lid so the children can not unscrew (fine parts and choking hazard of the board game pieces).
Scrabble, Pairs in Pears, Rummikub, Banagrams are some pieces I had available. I used only the scrabble wooden pieces for this bottle. Feel free to make how you like. This is an easy fun way to recycle small parts yet making them secure for a multi / mixed age learning environment.
An FYI the scrabble pieces will also help with number and letter recognition. Did you know there is also a scrabble sentence game? I found one at my favorite thrift store – Goodwill and that was also added to the sensory bottle.
Have fun making these bottles for your classroom
xoxo – Miss Sue
