My name is Suzette Salmon.
Since 2009, I have dedicated my time to serve children. I am a passionate licensed daycare owner of Lil Bebe Academy – a nature play-based home preschool.
In 2020 I gave birth to a project I had been working on for some time and became an author to Overcoming Daycare Burnout Steps to Living Your Best Daycare Life. What started as a blog post morphed into a book. As I wrote the blog words, lots of emotions and experiences continuously flowed so, I abandoned the blog post and focused on writing the book. As I wrote the book, I wondered how many caregivers suffered from knowing not how to operate a successful daycare; whether it’s finding a curriculum that worked for them, feeling accomplished, working with mixed age children, knowing how to handle challenging behaviors, how to handle client relationships, knowing the day to day running, or how to avoid or overcome burnout. I contemplated if other daycare owners got relief or gave up on a career helping young children.
In the book, you will find thirteen chapters.
Chapter 1 – Let’s Talk
Chapter 2 – Know Your Offerings
Chapter 3 – Have a Curriculum
Chapter 4 – Overcoming Classic Issues
Chapter 5 – Steps to Avoid Burnout
Chapter 6 – My story
Chapter 7 – Serve with Intention and Learn to Take control
Chapter 8 – Self Care
Chapter 9 – Ask for HELP.
Chapter 10 – The Daycare Environment
Chapter 11 – Outdoor Classroom
Chapter 12 – Get with the Times
Chapter 13 – Feeling Tired is a Sign
I am here to present myself as evidence that operating a home daycare business is empowering. There are countless rewards, and we make a difference (specifically home daycares, as this is where my expertise lays). I am very knowledgeable about the operations, dips, valleys, and freedom to operate a home-based childcare business. Yes, I am the boss of my very own business.
I love to dialogue with other caregivers. If you’d love for me to speak on your platform, please email me.
xoxo – Miss
