We love recycling toilet rolls. So many wonderful crafts can be made from these. Here we cut some strips for children to stack making trees. Children love to stack objects on top of each other. Whether its stacking pots, pot covers, cups, pencils they love putting things on top. In the past, we made a plaster Paris pole to aid many fine motor skills. See how that was done here.
For this you will need:
*toilet paper roll tubes
*scissors
*pole or small tree branch
*children 🙂
An invitation to play and stack.
We used this opportunity for children to count as the paper strips were stacked on each other. How many …is on this tree? I teach counting by having children place their hands on the object as they count (touch counting). They counted from the bottom to the top of the tree as they stacked the strips.
A very fun activity that produced beautiful trees that can be decked on your mantle. You could add pom poms, sprinkles …decorate to your liking.
This little one loved the activity so much he happily kept repeating the process.
Don’t toss your toilet or napkin roll save it for kids projects. See post on how we made fall trees with more of these paper rolls. Your happy kids will love stacking these. Miss Sue
