Drip Paint on Canvas to Create Beautiful Transient Art for Kids Rooms

October 22, 2017 By Suzette Salmon 2 Comments

Create personalized transient wall art by adding paint to canvas and allow to drip dry. Do you have canvas and acrylic paints laying around?  You can create this beautiful kids art in no time.My son made this one for his bedroom. He is a six years old and no longer wants the fire trucks, police cars etc… We have been incorporating his artworks and photos. Now, this canvas is a feature in his room.  You will need acrylic paints (the gloss ones create a nice shine on canvas),  canvas small or large, stand to rest the canvas on while it drips and paper to collect the drip. (My website contain affiliates and I do get a commission off some of the items sold).Mount your canvas on a plate holder or stand….set some paper underneath as you will have puddles of paint after it drips.  Allow your child to add the colors they like.  Keep adding paint at corners or middle anywhere …just remember it is going to drip.  Keep adding paint even if you create a layer over paints..this will create a very transient art pattern when dried. Here is how the color variation looked with more green added. Please remember to have paper underneath to collect the paint puddle as it drips. We allowed this to drip until there wasn’t a lot of paint dripping on paper then we laid flat.  When laying flat place pencil or chalk underneath canvas so it doesn’t stick to the paper.Leave overnight to air dry.  Then in the morning, you’ll have beautiful art to add to your child’s bedroom.  We have been making several of these in the daycare.  Hope your child will enjoy this activity as much as he did.  Miss Sue

Heru was so Happy with the outcome.

Hi Neighbor, I wish every child could have the opportunity to simply be a child and learn through the affordances of outdoor discoveries.

Small environments offer something deeply valuable—time, intimacy, flexibility, and closeness to everyday life. Hands on learning with freedom to explore and no time for worksheets.
Sometimes the richest learning experiences are the simplest🍃

Your environment invites children to explore, create, problem-solve, add new knowledge to old, and gain mastery.

Your backyard is enough to create spaces for young children to explore, discover, and simply be children.

It’s the language of childhood.

Proud Mama Moment 💛

My daughter graduated from high school earlier this summer and received a full Trustee Scholarship to college, where she will be studying American Sign Language (ASL).

It’s such a full-circle moment—she is the reason I started my home childcare 17 years ago. She grew up watching me use sign language with the babies in my care, giving them a way to communicate before they had the words to speak.

I’ve always seen her use the signs and knew she was interested in ASL, but I never realized how seriously she was considering it as a career path. She has told others, “My mom spoke to nonverbal kids, and I want to do the same.”

To my fellow home educators: your children are watching you. I want you to know the value of the work you do for others—and to love and value the career you have chosen.

The little girl who watched her mama sign with babies is now heading to college to study ASL herself.

We are so incredibly proud of you, our little Sunny 🌞. Congratulations, my Trustee Scholar. Go make your mark. ❤️
